Thanks to all who entered our recent competition for a new MPU Banner and submitted expressions of interest for upcoming MPU events. Both of those projects are now closed (event submissions will reopen later in 2019).
Now we're looking for volunteers and have a long/growing list of roles you could get involved with in the ongoing running of Melbourne Poets Union.

Next Chapbook launch
John Bartlett's The Arms of Men

The Arms of Men is a collection of poetry by John Bartlett, published by the Melbourne Poets Union as part of our Union Poets Series Chapbooks. John is the author of three novels, Towards a Distant Sea, Estuary and Jack Ferryman: Reluctant Private Investigator, as well as All Mortal Flesh, a collection of short stories and A Tiny & Brilliant Light, his published non-fiction. Join John and fellow poet Maria Takolander as well as representatives from the Melbourne Poets Union to launch this inspiring collection. MC Steve Smart (MPU President).
John will be signing books after the official launch business.

We are currently getting all of our chapbook author pages up to date, so keep checking back to make sure you have all the MPU titles in your collection. It'll take a little while but we'll get there (there are quite a lot of books y'know).

A small part of a bigger story
Melbourne Poets Union has been operating since 1977. In those 41 years we have seen many changes to the Australian arts landscape. We keep striving to put poets in clear view of modern Australia with events, competitions, print and online publications and all manner of opportunities.
